Interjections are the words that are used to express some sudden feelings or emotions. They are not grammatically related to any word or sentence.

The words in the above sentences : Hurrah, Alas, Oh, Hush are expressing sudden feelings/emotions. Such types of words are called interjections.

​Rules for interjections

The Interjection is placed before a sentence begins.

The mark of exclamation(!) always follows an Interjection.
Interjections may express:-

Sorrow:- Alas!, Oh!, Ah!

Surprise:- What!, Ha!, Oh!

Appreciation:- Bravo!
